Before you go - the humble daffodil is also used for good.

The bulbs and flowers are used in treatments for Alzheimer's. They contain an alkaloid called galantamine. This helps to treat people with memory impairments.

The daffodil is also the symbol for Marie Curie cancer charity. Their Great Daffodil Appeal runs through February, March, and April.
