All of us at Bombus would like to say a really BIG thank you to everyone who visited our studio sale event and helped make it such a success. Our chosen charity for the event was Kent Refuge Action Network (KRAN), a local charity who support young unaccompanied asylum seekers and refugees and we’re pleased to announce that we will be donating £300 towards their valuable work. We had a crafting table for children which was really popular. We will be making an artwork using some of the pieces they produced and donating that to KRAN as well. One of the things we love about our Studio Sales is getting to meet you all. It’s not just friends and family who attend but some of you travel from far afield and it’s such a pleasure to show you around. Our local MP, Helen Watley came along. We’d met her previously at The Swale Business Awards last year (you can read about our award here) so it was great to welcome her to the studio too. She was surprised to see the scale of Bombus as she’d expected a much smaller production. We do pride ourselves on our ‘Kitchen table crafts’ but on a manufacturing scale. And a big thank you must go to Matt Miles, our resident musician, who provided a gorgeous ambiance of jazz on the Friday evening. Matt overheard a great snippet of a conversation, which I just have to share with you as it really sums up you wonderful lot.  “Do we know anyone who has the initials B & H?  No?  Shall we get it just in case?”
